During the Eid al-Adha holiday, the number of passengers dropped significantly in line with the government's appeal to reduce mobility

Jakarta - The government has set the Implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali on 21-25 July 2021, in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 22 of 2021.

The Ministry of Transportation stated that regulations for prospective passengers on domestic flights still follow the provisions of the Circular of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 15 of 2021 concerning Restrictions on Community Activities During the Eid Al-Adha 1442 H Holiday During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period.

As for following up on SE Number 15 of 2021, the Ministry of Transportation has issued Circular Letter Number 53 of 2021 which is an amendment to Circular Letter Number SE 45 of 2021 concerning Instructions for Implementing Domestic Travel by Air Transportation During the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that prospective airplane passengers must always meet the applicable requirements.

"At AP II airports, validation or inspection of the required documents will be carried out by stakeholders according to their roles and functions, including the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health [KKP of the Ministry of Health] and airlines. We urge people to only travel if it is urgent and has met the requirements," Muhammad Awaluddin said.

In accordance with SE Number 53 of 2021, airplane passengers who fly between airports in Java, from or to Java, and from or to airports in Bali, must show a vaccination card at least the first dose and a letter of RT-PCR results whose samples are taken a maximum of 2x24 hours before departure.

For flights from or to the airport, other than that, it is mandatory to show a certificate of RT-PCR results whose samples are taken a maximum of 2x24 hours or rapid test antigens whose samples are taken a maximum of 1x24 hours.

Meanwhile, specifically for the Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri holiday period on July 19-25, restrictions were applied for prospective airplane passengers under 18 years, except for travelers with the need for work activities in essential and critical sectors (showing STRP or other certificate from the authorities) .

In addition, restrictions for prospective airplane passengers under 18 years of age are also excluded for travellers with urgent needs, namely patients with serious conditions, pregnant women who are accompanied by 1 family member, the interests of childbirth who are accompanied by a maximum of 2 people, and non-COVID corpse carriers. -19 with a maximum number of 5 people (showing a hospital referral letter or other certificate).

The obligation to show a vaccination card is also excluded for airplane passengers with special medical interests who are not/have not been vaccinated for medical reasons based on a specialist doctor's statement; critically ill patients; pregnant women who are accompanied by 1 family member; mutual interests with a maximum of 2 companions; and delivery of non-COVID-19 corpses with a maximum of 5 people.

Reduced mobility
As for the implementation of the Java - Bali Emergency PPKM, which began on July 3, 2021, the number of passengers at AP II airports decreased by an average of around 70% per day compared to before the Emergency PPKM was implemented.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the decline in passengers has occurred since July 3 and has actually decreased on July 19, 2021 or H-1 before Eid al-Adha which falls on July 20, 2021. The same thing also happened at other airports managed by AP II.

Muhammad Awaluddin said the implementation of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM on 3-20 July 2021 was very effective in suppressing community mobility.

"The government's appeal for people to reduce mobility is obeyed. At AP II airports the decline in the number of passengers reaches around 70% per day during Emergency PPKM and this indicates that the trips are only urgent," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

AP II currently manages 20 airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta (Tangerang), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Kualanamu (Medan), Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Palembang).
