New Normal, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Apply Three Layers of Security

10 Jul 2020

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - PT Angkasa Pura II will implement three levels of security at 19 airports managed by Angkasa Pura II in the new normal order of the aviation world, including at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the layered security improvement was aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19 in all airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.

The first is physical security, which is focused on the threat of crime and terrorism at the airport. Also read: This New Facility at Soetta Airport to Implement Health Protocols in the New Normal Era.

"In normal times, airport security aspects focus on doing what is called Physical Security," Awaluddin said in a written statement received by Kompas.com, Friday (07/10/2020).

Awaluddin said personnel at the airport guarded public access and limited access at the airport, then inspected potential passengers to ensure there were no dangerous objects on the plane.

Then the security is enhanced in the new normal phase with security called bio-security.

Awaluddin said the airport also focused on Bio-Security to ensure physical distance, physical health surveillance and provide facilities that could be run without touch or touchless.

"It also ensures cleanliness and ensures employee health," Awaluddin said.

Then the third security is cyber security which utilizes technology to strengthen data security and system integration at the airport.

"The aviation sector is very dependent on the integration of various complex systems and needs to be protected holistically, therefore we also focus on cyber security," he said.
