Strict Requirements, Passenger Aircraft are Urged to Arrive at the Airport 4 Hours Before Departure

08 May 2020, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) appealed to prospective passengers to arrive at the airport 3 to 4 hours earlier than the departure hour. Because, there are a number of conditions that must now be met if passengers want to board the plane in the middle of the Corona or Covid-19 virus pandemic.

These requirements must be met in accordance with Circular Letter (SE) No. 4/2020 concerning Criteria for Restricting the Travel of Persons in the Context of Handling Acceleration of Covid-19 issued by the Directorate General of Air Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation.

"This new procedure is carried out strictly with detailed stages, therefore we urge that prospective passengers have arrived at the airport 3-4 hours before the scheduled departure," said Director of Operations and Services of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhamad Wasid, Friday 8 May 2020.

Like at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. There is a new procedure, first, the departure service point is only in Terminal 2 - Gate 4 and Terminal 3 - Gate 3.

At each point there is the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Control Post, which is part of the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force. Then, at the post the prospective passenger must show the travel documents, such as flight tickets, identification, free Covid-19 certificate, travel certificate, and other documents that must be fulfilled according to SE No. 4/2020.

"Third, still at the same post, prospective aircraft passengers must fill out a Health Alert Card (HAC) and an epidemiological investigation form provided by KKP personnel," Wasid said.

Fourth, if all the files are complete and the HAC and epidemiology forms have been filled out, then the prospective passenger goes to the second examination table. On the examination table, all files were re-checked as were HACs and epidemiological investigation forms, by KKP personnel.

After being declared complete, prospective passengers will receive a clearance letter from the KKP personnel. Fifth, armed with a letter of clearance and all the documents, the prospective passenger then goes to the check-in counter to get a boarding pass.

"Then, the next stage, after the check-in counter, the passenger then goes to Security Check Point 2. At this SCP 2, Avsec personnel will check the clearance letter held by the prospective passenger of the aircraft, boarding pass, and identification," Wasid said.

Then, passengers are allowed to go to the boarding lounge.

Not only at Soetta Airport, Wasid ensured that this procedure was also applied at 18 other airports in Indonesia that were managed by AP II.
