AP II created the electric vehicle ecosystem at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

28 Jan 2020

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Director of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Muhammad Awaluddin said, since the runway 3 was operated, the On Time Performance (OTP) of airlines at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport increased compared to last 2018. Keep in mind, the third foundation was first used in the Christmas and New Year period, namely the period 20 December 2019 to 6 January 2020.

"That we get our OTP of 83 percent with 23 thousand movements. In 2018, with the same day period only 79 percent," he told reporters in Tangerang on Sunday (1/26).

He stressed the importance of the existence of runway 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. "In certain conditions, airport operations cannot be avoided, for example there is a runway physical situation with problems, with the runway 3 there is no longer avoiding high risk," Awaluddin explained.

Another benefit, he continued, is that in certain circumstances the operational of Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport is closed then all flights are moved to Soetta Airport. "In the situation of irregularities, for example on January 1, Mrs. Director General closed Halim Airport operations, all were moved to Soetta, if only two runways were operated, this is a situation where the existence of a third runway determines," he stressed.

Awaluddin emphasized that after the runway 3, the condition of Soetta Airport was safer than before.
"We are demanded by the safety factor, this is very real. (Next) we need to socialize a lot everywhere," he said.

On this occasion he revealed, AP II was asked to immediately complete the construction of terminal four. "We as the airport operators are grateful for the support of the Ministry of Transportation and stakeholders, in the near future we will be asked to accelerate the progress of the construction of terminal four," Awaluddin said.
