Cool, There's Cleaning Service Robot in Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta

13 Oct 2019, JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has put in place two robotic scrubber drier units to clean the floors in Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

AP II Managing Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the existing Terminal 3 robotic scrubber drier was a combination of smart solutions and the most advanced technology on the market. Not only is it able to clean the floor perfectly, this robot can also work very fast.

"We are evolving services by promoting autonomous equipment for a number of jobs to reduce the role of humans. On the other hand, the role of human resources will be transferred to other jobs, "Awaluddin said in a press release on Sunday (10/13/2019).

The presence of the floor cleaning robot complements the presence of the Dilo robot which AP II has launched to help prospective passengers find flight information and other information. Check out Robot Dilo's action from Agus Purwanto's Facebook account above.

Regarding the garbage cleaning robot, Awaluddin explained that this autonomous equipment is equipped with a telemetry system to ensure the software communicates with various sonar, lasers and sensors to ensure the robot maneuvers safely and avoids obstacles when in the middle of the task of cleaning the floor.

Meanwhile, he added, the source of this autonomous equipment energy comes from batteries with a maximum capacity of 180 Ah with a duration (battery run time) for 4 hours. This equipment carries a tank that can hold 90 liters of water and has two brush units.

He said he was currently also considering using more autonomous equipment at the company's airports. For example, autonomous equipment to organize, pick up and tidy up luggage at the passenger terminal of the aircraft.

In addition, baggage towing tractors [BTT] that currently require drivers will be considered to be unmanned or autonomous. BTT itself is a vehicle for towing passenger luggage from the make up area at the terminal to the plane and vice versa.

"We also open up the possibility of using autonomous drones to clean foreign debris [FOD] objects or debris from foreign objects on the runway so that the cleaning process is faster and optimal," he said.

Terminal 3 has an area of around 420,000 square meters with aircraft passenger traffic can reach 25 million passengers annually.
