Tangerang, September 2018 - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) synergizes with PT Bukit Asam (Tbk) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) where PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is represented by Director of Engineering and Operation Djoko Murjatmodjo and PT Bukit Asam (Tbk) was represented by the Director of Business Development, Fuad IZ Fachroeddin.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was held at the Head Office of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) located at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as well as a form of mutually beneficial strategic cooperation.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) 's Director of Engineering and Operations, Djoko Murjatmodjo said, "Alternative and renewable energy is needed by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) to sustain a very large PLN electricity use. By looking at the impact of high electricity usage costs, if there is a cheaper source of electricity compared to PLN, it can be considered to use alternative electricity in achieving the efficiency of airport operations. In the future, the PKS will be continued with the commercial aspects in it. "

President Director of PT Bukit Asam (Tbk), Arviyan Arifin said, "The signing of this MoU is the first step of a synergy between PT Angkasa Pura II and PT Bukit Asam, hopefully everything will run smoothly until the cooperation agreement will come later."

PT Angkasa Pura II is bound by world emission standards in the management of airports, and seeks to implement airport operations that are environmentally friendly, one of which is by planning a collaboration with PT Bukit Asam in the application of alternative sources of electricity that are more efficient, namely Solar Power Plants. Not only that, PT Angkasa Pura II also uses an electric car on the operational side of the airport of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as a form of corporate participation in protecting the environment.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said "The use of this solar power plant is a corporate step as a form of participation in protecting the environment and to become an Eco Friendly Airport by using new and renewable alternative energy sources in addition to fossil fuel."

Not only that, as a pilot project in the implementation of Eco Friendly Airport PT Angkasa Pura II also uses technology with alternative energy sources such as the use of solar panels for street lighting and will later use electric buses for airport operations of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero).
