Majalengka - No later than July 1, 2019, all domestic jet flight operations at Husein Sastranegara International Airport will be diverted to Kertajati International Airport.
This was agreed at the meeting today, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, which was held in Kertajati and led by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and attended by the Deputy Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), PT Bandara Internasional West Java (BIJB), AirNav Indonesia, and representatives from national airlines.
"The central government is committed to regulating all stakeholders so that the service at Kertajati is good. We plan to not later than July 1, because it is gradual. Here (Kertajati) there are 28 take-offs, 28 landings, meaning there are 56 take-offs and landings that move to Kertajati, namely all domestic jets (routes), "said the Minister.
As for the operation of all propeller aircraft (propellers) and planes that operate fixed foreign routes through Husein Sastranegara in Bandung.
Following the decision, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) stated that it was ready to arrange flights at Husein Sastranegara and Kertajati.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said that currently data collection was being carried out related to the needs needed by airlines so that the diversion of flight trips was smooth.
"We are currently recording what is needed by the airline so that no later than July 1, 2019, all flights have moved to Kertajati, according to the decision of today's meeting."
Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the arrangement of flights carried out was carried out with the concept of a multi airport system to balance flight traffic so that airports and airlines could operate more effectively and efficiently.
"This flight arrangement was carried out in Husein Sastranegara, Kertajati, and also Soekarno-Hatta in Cengkareng and Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta) by paying attention to 4 areas namely facilities, infrastructure, flight operating systems, and human resources."
The routes planned to be diverted from Husein Sastranegara to Kertajati for the time being are:
1. Surabaya: 14 flights / day
2. Denpasar: 12 flights / day
3. Pekanbaru: 4 flights / day
4. Banjarmasin: 2 flights / day
5. Your qualifications: 6 flights / day
6. Ujung Pandang: 2 flights / day
7. Palembang: 4 flights / day
8. Padang: 2 flights / day
9. Balikpapan: 2 flights / day
10. Yogyakarta: 2 flights / day
11. Lombok: 2 flights / day
12. Pontianak: 2 flights / day
13. Batam: 2 flights / day
West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum said that Kertajati's operation was highly anticipated by the West Java people.
"PAD (Regional Original Income) of West Java will increase and the economy of the people around [Kertajati] will be changed," explained West Java Deputy Governor.
Kertajati is the largest airport in West Java and in the future is projected as the second largest airport in Indonesia after Soekarno-Hatta.
In the initial stage, Kertajati had a terminal area of 96,000 square meters with a capacity of 5 million passengers. In the final development, or ultimate stage, Kertajati will be strengthened with a terminal capacity of 29.3 million per year in 2032.
